Oh gosh, I guess that means our horses are pretty old! I've always thought it was more like 2:1....so my 12 year old would still be pretty spry at 24 human years, but sane enough to learn something new without frying his brain.

I believe that the ratio is more like 3::1. Compare a 90 year old person to a 30 year old horse, or a 20 year old horse to a 60 year old person. That works for horses latter in life but the ratio is more like 5::1 when they are younger.

    Cookies to me!
Old?? 12 is old? 12 is the start of their life!
My lease horse is 26, that's already a bit older!

And well they just try to help I'm sure :)
But if yu specificly ask not to, or if they seem to just say something to look as if they know what they talk about, then yes!! They need to shut up :P

Well I must be killing my mare then she is 17 and does showjumping, hunting, hunter trials, dressage you name it she once went showjumping hunting and dressage all in one week if that's old maybe she should be dead by now with all the work I do with her lol

I hate it when little teenyboppers with a few years in pony club won't listen and think that they know everything already. Everybody would be better off if they kept a tight rein on thier egos and listened to what more experienced riders say. You might actually learn something.

100 years of experience, or 100 minutes - everyone would be better off with this, but it's not going to happen!

Kind of like world peace but it's still an honorable goal.

kevins, are you talking about this thread?
Either way, all you do on here is get on and act like your better than everyone else and know more. You insult all the teens and people that want to become more experienced. You correct every little spelling error in some ones post you don't like, and think your way is the only way. I'm sick of it. You have posted mean things on peoples rants. I HAD respect for you as a knowledgeable horse person, and even if that may be so, you've lost my respect for you. Not that you'd care either way. Most things people say on here, you readily contradict. I can agree with much of what you say, but what I don't agree with I STRONGLY disagree with. Example:
"I really don't think you know what you're talking about." "You strike me as a little arrogant and a know-it-all."
I really like many of your posts on here, but when you direct it at people that may have made a mistake with something, you get rude.
Je suis fait avec vous !

When I see someone that is wrong offering advice to a person that is not experienced enough to know that it is wrong then I feel compelled to take action. I'm sorry if you are offended but I think being direct and honest is the best way to deal with things. I never insult anyone for wanting more experience but often they need a wake up call before they hurt themselves or someone else. I am not sorry if I interup someones pity-party rant with a splash of reality. Often that is what the OP needs rather he/she knows it or not.
