I have now owned Hattie the Haflinger for 3 years.

A year yesterday I set off to collect Hattie and Gilda, a mare and foal I had only met twice and had never touched or handled. Gilda at 5 months was just a baby so pretty straight forward but her 5 year old mum was totally unknown and could have been a nightmare...but she turned out to be an angel

Two months before I collected her

    On arrival

    And a year later

The following year we did this
    Sept ‘11
We went out to a training meet with the bloodhounds and she behaved as if she’d been a million times

    Oct ‘11
The Opening Meet was great fun.

    January ‘12
Gilda filled out and lost some of the yearling uglies.

    June ‘12 - at Mum's camp.

    July ‘12
So many photos in July , that I like, but here are a few :)
Hattie learns to lead the way

    Then this last year...

    And this

    And had our first first

    And our first SJ competition
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBaIF7t2oMc

And a friend got her to do this

    And with another friend...

And we recently tried a few steps of medium trot

    And baby Gilda did this
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OsxfIoqebqs

And today Hattie got a 4th in the 2' SJ class at my local club and just had a pole down in the 2'3 but she seemed to really enjoy it. I love my haffies and I'm so chuffed with them.

Hattie is such a talented, good looking little mare. Its so obvious that she loves to please in those pictures. She's very lucky to have fallen into your hands!

Thank you all so much, I know it is a rather self indulgent thread, but I'm so proud of my little horse (and her daughter) and I have been truly amazed at how versatile and quick to learn they are as a breed

First time ever team chasing in two weeks!!! Hopefully there will be photos for a report on how we get on.

And, proud you should be!! My goodness, Bravo!

I got a haffie to keep my "angel" company. Once I got past the little haffie's rather intrusive personality, she matter of factly demonstrated her intelligence and I find her a real joy. They are different, that is for sure.
