I know I'm a little crazy...but isn't that the best way to be? I came across an opportunity I just couldn't pass up and now I've got a pretty little mare in my possession!

She's a 7 year old darker palomino off-the-range Mustang with a GORGEOUS long, insanely thick flaxen mane. She needs a lot of work, I have to admit. She's very touchy about her flank and hind legs, she kicks out a bit but out of defensiveness and definitely not being nasty or anything. She has a very sweet personality, just very, very green. She's going off to a great trainer for a month pretty much right away to get her started out- number one on the list would be working out those hind-end issues! But even then obviously I have quite a project ahead of me!
She's extremely mellow, though, carries her head low when ridden and doesn't offer to do much wrong at all...she just needs more miles, for sure, but more than anything just groundwork and such. She is naturally just very willing and honest and I could just see something in her that I just couldn't let walk away...and before you ask (when you see her) trust me, I didn't judge this on looks! It's only a nice bonus!

I'll add more pictures later but I have to hurry out now to take care of poor Kainne who is laid up with a leg injury, long story (please wish him a speedy recovery!):

No official name yet...still have to figure that one out!

Thank you guys! She's just gonna be my little all around/trail horse to play with pretty much, I do a little bit of everything really..and she definitely seems like she'll be a great horse for that! She has the perfect trail horse personality, very good sense about her and everything.

Now that I have a bit more time, here are pictures from her ad:

My mom has more from today on her phone but I've got to wait for her to put them up on the computer. She's staying put for now and I'm not gonna get to see her again until Tuesday :-( but so excited! You can just see what a great girl she's gonna be. I can't wait! :D

She is a very pretty little girl. It isn't such an unusual thing for them to be touchy about their butts and back legs, that is one of the first places predators are likely to strike. Miles will help that tremendously. When I first started riding Dobe, I could reach back and tap him on the rump and he would kick out. After a few thousand miles, he stopped caring about stuff touching him there, she will too.

Thanks a ton!!
Yeah, it definitely isn't too bad a deal, and I definitely don't blame her, I'd be worried about that area too if I were her!
She doesn't appear to have even a hint of a buck, bolt, or rear in her undersaddle, which would be much more concerning. I'm so excited for her to get out to the trainer and to get to work with her more and see her improve!

By the way, anyone have any thoughts about a name?
My thoughts so far:
Ivy
Soraya
Aurora
Leslie
Karma
Lark

I think at the moment I would lean towards Ivy the most, but I'm not certain...my mom didn't like Ivy :-( haha I know that shouldn't matter that much...I probably won't pick anything for 100% sure before I see her again on Tuesday, but would like to have a pretty solid idea...so I can stop referring to her as "her" and "she" and evading a name
Her current name has been Carmelita...but..at the risk of sounding very silly...I just don't feel right having a horse with such a Spanish name, because I'm so white  hahahaha..I know it's silly but I just feel awkward saying it.
But I'd prefer a different name anyway, even though I can definitely see how that name suits her..she's definitely got that caramel colour going on.
If anyone has any ideas that are more along the lines of my suggested names but related to that name, feel free to suggest!

Thank you guys! I love the name Soraya too..I suppose I got a little bit turned off to using it for another horse after I got so attached to the name for another horse I almost bought awhile ago, hahaha
But it is probably my favourite name for a horse.
I'm just very silly about things but it would be a really nice name for her I think...when I go there on Tuesday I will have to see how it feels for her, along with a few others...it really is too bad that it has to wait then!

Pretty girl.

Are those cross ties as short as they look in the photo? If they are, they really should be a tad longer for her.
Yeah, definitely too short for her. I think she's probably one of the shortest horses they have on the property and they don't bother adjusting them to her so she gets stuck with her pretty head stuck so high up. Seller's doing.
I definitely will be doing quite a few things differently with her!

Oh funny, I totally looked at her when I was buying, but she was too far away! She's a really pretty girl! :D I think you'll have a good time with her.
Oh wow, that is funny!! I always wondered if I'd ever come across anyone on here who had considered any of my horses or the same horses I was looking at or anything like that.
Well she'll definitely be in good hands! :D
