    I leave on the 18th!!

Which is this Saturday! (Didn't know where to put this!)

Oh I already miss my horse; I hate to admit it but I had a good cry. I'm just trying to sort out horse insurance now. I've gotten quotes from three different companies and I'm trying to find the one that is most affordable but also most satisfying to my horse's needs.

So apparently when one goes to New Zealand via plane, one gets sprayed with some sort of chemical to kill any bacteria and basically "sterilize" oneself. Isn't that crazy?! So I'm reconsidering taking my horse boots as no matter how hard I scrub or hose them down, they may never be clean enough for New Zealand's standards.

So I may put them into storage and buy ones when I get there.

But some good news... I got the job I interviewed for so I have a way to pay for Sky comfortably, get some insurance for him, and save up for my own place for myself and a way to get back to the USA!

I am stressed out as we have packers coming tomorrow at 8am and they'll be here till around 5-6pm sadly.. so I may or may not have time to go out and see Sky (he's 40 mins away) and then Friday they come to store the car here since we aren't taking it with (they drive on the left side and so we're going to get a rental and get a car insurance.)

So Thursday is my last chance, unless something crazy happens, and then Saturday I leave. How sad!!! But exciting at the same time.

The longest of the flights is 14 and a half hours.. phew! And Ha ha ha I picked the farthest seat from my family as they drive me crazy ;) affectionately of course.

So horse insurance, automatic bill pay for farrier/board/vet, and paying someone to take care and exercise/groom Sky. Anything else I'm missing?

And any support you want to offer that doesn't include wanting to take my horse off of my hands :P I do bite!

Wow, Sky, that is pretty exciting!

I would love to go to New Zealand and Australia. One of my best friends is from Australia and I would love to visit her.I met her in the states while she was here on a work visa working for a cutting horse trainer.

Too bad that you won't be with your horse, but I am jealous!

    Best of Luck!

    Thank you :)

Yes I am really bummed he can't come but he'll get lots of love and exercise and care here.

How cool! Australia and New Zealand are close-ish to each other. I get to be in Sydney for 4 hours so woo!

Bon Voyage Sky. When you return from the land of kiwis, could you please bring me back a New Zealand Huntaway? Mine passed away ten years ago, I still miss him.

    :) Thanks!

I'll be sure to find a very handsome Kiwi for you, tinyliny, and a very beautiful but goofy NZ Huntaway for you waresbear! But lucky you for having one in the first place!

I'm hoping everything goes smoothly for Sky.. he's in fabulous hands. He's got one lessee once a week and then a friend of mine offered to keep him in his exercise regime, take him out to love on him, and keep an eye on him. I'm paying her for her kindness as it is a loooot of work.

Plus every boarder at the barn and their mother will be stuffing him full of apples, LOL. Hopefully I don't come home in 2 years to a big ol elephant
