I Love My Romeo

I have officially decided that I absolutely, positively adore my grullo stud colt. He has to be one of the most sweetest, laid back 5 month olds I've ever had the chance to work with. He takes everything in stride, doesn't normally throw up any fits and will talk to me as I walk out to see him.

He sticks his nose through the stall door bars and whinnies, and nickers happily to see me appear. He is now letting us bathe him with little fight, lets me clip his nose, ears, around his eyes, and his bridal path without even so much as raising his head. Fly spray is no problem, plastic, loud noises, dogs, and blankets are a cinch. He even stood tied to day without dancing around! He is handsome, charming, and loving all wrapped up into one. I honestly don't think I could ask for a better horse, he really lives up to his name.

Today we worked with a tarp, after a bit of dancing he stood still let me drag it around him, rub it on him, and he even walked over it without rearing or throwing a fit. He let it be shook, flipped at and around him without so much as batting an eye. I'm super impressed, he is improving everyday and everyday is repeated and each day he proves that he wants to learn.

He isn't my first horse, in fact I work with horses his age all the time. I break horses in their 2s and 3s, I'm not going to hate him just because he hits a certain age and new challenges arise. Life doesn't work like that, if it did I would've quit horses a long time ago, but thanks.
