Talking I measured Lacey today...

And guess what? She's actually a pony! I was using a height tape, so not terribly accurate but according to it, she's 14.2hh ish, maybe a little shorter.

I'm super excited because I love big horses and ponies... Probably with ponies it's the idea of the pony but still, I love them.

Also, I find it hilarious that I am 5ft 7ish (maybe taller) and fit perfectly on her. Because you know people are always saying that tall people like me don't fit on ponies, I guess they just need a chunky one like my Lacey!

Anyway, random, but I though it was cool. How tall is everybody's favorite horse/pony?

Fabio - 13 year old Arab/QH gelding
Hazel - 14 year old Angora goat

Atticus - 4 year old LaMancha/Alpine cross goat

~
Rest peacefully, Lacey.

haha. I have a paint named Lacy. (Lacys Corona) she's somewere between 14.2-15hh. I've never measured her but I like to call her a pony. She's a very typical pony. Cute when she wants food, but stubborn under saddle.

My mare is 14.2, but she is very much a HORSE. Even if technically a pony, she would be thoroughly offended at the accusation of being a pony. :P

My horse is 16.1 and I feel like my legs are too long for him.. I'm 5'7"(ish).. I love my sisters horse, who's 17.2 :P
I'm much more of a very large horse person, than a pony person haha

Jordan.

I once tried measuring my horse using the tape method... It was WAY off. I think it said something like 16-17hh. So I used the stick and she's 15.1hh. I feel that she's the perfect height for me. I can jump on her bareback from the ground, which is the ultimate plus. I'm 5'1". I feel most comfortable on shorter horses, but I've found that I fit very well on 16.2hh-ish horses as well.

What height does "pony" stop and "horse" begin? If it is 15 hh, then I apparently have several "ponies". LOL.

Koda is 14.2 and Dobe is 14.3. Denny is between 15 and 15.1. John is about 18 and Bessie is around 17.2. All the others range in the 15-15.3 mark, except Olen. He only stands about 34 inches tall.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/
