To me it sounds like a stollen horse being sold on.

The seller sent me a polite text accepting my decision and wishing us all the best. So no drama, which I am glad of.
OH, who is allergic to horses, has been incredibly understanding and supportive. He's taking me to see some other horses over the next couple of weeks - I don't drive - and even bought me a grooming kit and medical kit for when I finally do find the right one.
I know I will find the right one eventually!

I was about to buy the grooming and medical stuff myself, when he just says "No, I'm getting you this! It's important to you, and I want to support you."
    It was so sweet.

Ok, in my opinion, if the horse is worth it, stay with it, and if they end up being really ornery with it, and threaten you that they won't sell the horse, then get a lawyer and take them to court. But, what I would do is say I need some more time, look at a lot of horses between then and see if you find another one that is just as good or better and is really simple with the transportation and over all satisfaction. If you don't find a better horse then go back and try what I said at the beginning. Hope this helped, sorry about your situation!

Yes, I did really like the horse in question. However, not to the point where I am willing to risk getting dragged into some sort of dodgy deal. After all, I am wanting to ride to have fun, get healthier and relax. Not to be stressed by potential legal quagmires!
Still, I really hope that the seller decides to stop being so weird about receipts and the horse gets the good home she deserves.
