I Really Need A Farrier In Louisiana

I couldn't find a more appropriate thread for this so sorry if it's in the wrong spot. My farrier has not called back or told us when he is coming to my area, so I need to find a new farrier that works in south east Louisiana ,across the lake from New Orleans . Thanks!

If we were in that situation, I'd be talking to my vet, and making inquiries at the local tack and/or feed store. Do all your other horse owning friends use the same farrier that you do?

That's my next step, I was just posting to see if anyone knows one. I would rather have personal recommendations for a farrier, as I'm sure yall would too. (: My other horsey friends use the same farrier. I haven't talked to any of them in a while to see if he's made it to them, but I know Chief's feet are overdue and his shoes need to come off asap.

I can't help you with knowing a farrier, but you aren't the only one in that situation.

I have a daughter who has a horse. She has friends who have a couple. They have to drive 135 miles east of the nearest town to meet a trimmer just half way from his place. It costs them an incredible amount for both the trims and the round trip gasoline. I trim my own and only get them to a farrier once a year. I can also shoe, but don't generally need to for what we do.

Some horse people really go the extra miles to have a horse.

What city are you in? My farrier lives here in Folsom and I really like his work.
