Well, operation pony hunt still continues. He wasn't too keen on Hannah, he wants his baby to have a perfect horse/pony for her first one, and I understand. Still kinda sucks. None of her others really felt right, so we're still looking. I would love to say I'm tired of looking at horses, but I'm really not...I do kinda enjoy visiting all these different places. I'm just ready to bring one home!

I actually am loving the sounds of little Hannah.. Tell your husband not to count Hannah ANY less than perfect for your daughter just because of her eye.. Poor thing, she may be just exactly what your daughter needs, she just has her little quirks like everyone else.. What does your daughter think of Hannah?

He didn't even want her brought in so my daughter didn't get a chance to do anything to try to get to know her. We just looked at her and pet her through the fence. It disappoints me that he won't even give her a chance, but such is life I guess. He and I are so totally different when it comes to horses in just about every area, we may be looking for something for awhile. We never agree on anything.

That's sad!! At least you know how things really are and maybe you're husband will come around if you look at other ponies and they aren't what you're looking for.. You just have to remind him that you're looking for the pony for your daughter..The pony doesn't have to look perfect, it just has to be the perfect little "soul" for your daughter..Husbands! Why must they be so difficult!?

I know right! If it were up to me she would have had something long ago. Hopefully soon I'll be bragging on our new find that actually made it home with us.

Thats a shame it didn't work out, but one will end up with you soon enough. My little one's first pony was a horrific looking OAP. She was still shaggy in the middle of summer, not entirely sound from an old injury (but sound enough to walk on) and only able to catch if you brought a bucket or two of patience with you :) BUT, she babysat her and was an old pet. We have gone through a few ponies since but they didn't suit until SImba. Simba is great on the lead, but I'd have serious concerns over his ability to go off the lead but he is doing his job for us at the moment and that's what counts. I'm a firm believer in whats meant for you won't pass you, and I'd be confident that the perfect pony will end up at home with you soon :)

I must dig out an old picture of Bindi so you can see exactly how ugly she was lol :)

There is no such thing as a "perfect" pony. If he wants that, it might be better to go to ToysRUs and get the purple one on springs.

Good luck with your comtinued search.

A good pony is extremely hard to come by, as it seems they all have quirks and faults. You will mot find Shadowfax in a girl's first pony. A good mind with a physical flaw is a rare gem. I am tempted to ask where uou are located and how much the lady wants for the pony. My sister has been looking for a good pony.

I have a soft spot for one eyed ponies as well. Ol' Brownie taught me balance, determination, perserverance and how to keep getting back on. She abused me for over a year but in the end, we were quite the team. Even her owners said, "she has really warmed up to you, hardly ever bucks you off anymore, and rarely bites you at all". I felt so accomplished!

Oh my gosh, don't I know it. What's bad is that he has grown up with horses, he knows there is no such thing as perfect. I just want something suitable...I honestly don't know exactly what he's looking for anymore. My biggest requirement is that the pony must be big enough that I can get on it and ride if needed. That's it. After that it is temperment. I just want something for her to learn with that she can be comfortable with.

I am in south Mississippi though, a little over an hour north of New Orleans. She was only asking $250 for her because she is older and the eye issue.
