I think I may be doing something wrong.. ?

OK, so when I go out to lunge Snapple, I stand at her side and try to get her to go out in a circle around me, and sometimes she will, if I have the lunge whip, I just hold at her side and she goes. If I don't have it, she'll just keep backing up, I try to push her out, but she just turns and backs up. I think she knows what I want her to do, because she will go out in the circle around me sometimes, but not consistanly.. am I dong something wrong?

Your horse shouldn't be able to back up if you're aligned properly with her body (usually... if the horse doesn't really respect your body language then it will be harder). Generally, if you're lined up with their stifle and -stay- lined up with their stifle no matter how/where they move, they won't be able to do anything but move forward. If you can get her to go out in a circle once, like you said you can do sometimes, and you stay aligned with her stifle, she should stay out no matter what. Hope I helped. ^^;

Ooooh ok thanks Mac!
I think I stand in the wrong place, usually by her shoulder.

Thanks again!
