I think we have a MAJOR problem here...

Okay, we talked to my riding instructors about Bill, and how the old owner isnt giving us any of his coggins and stuff, and he said that there must be something seriously wrong with bill.

My mom called the old owner (John), about paying him 250 for board, and even went out to the barn about paying him the boarding fee, and he hasnt replied nor was he there. She said she half expected to see all the horses and barn GONE!

Why isnt he replying? Why hasnt he gotten his coggins?? I'm so worried right now.

Oh, and John Haas has a bad rep. John Haas Review | Rip-off Report #596283

WE BOUGHT AHORSE FROM THEM THAT THEY SAID WAS BEGINNER SAFE TO RIDE AND DRIVE. I HITTCHED HIM TO MY MEADOWBROOK AND HE BOLTED IMMEDIATELY WHEN WE STARTED OUT - I MANAGED TO AVOID SEVERAL OBSTACLES, BUT THEN THE CART WAS SWINGING AROUND BECAUSE OF HIS SPEED AND AVOIDING A TREE AND ROCKS, AND IT FLIPPED AND THREW ME OUT. THE CART WAS DESTROYED. HE SAID HE WOULD COME GET THE HORSE AND MAKE IT RIGHT BUT NEVER DID. WHEN TALKING TO HIM HE LEFT IT SLIP THAT HE HAD HITCHED HIM TWICE!!!! THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A BEGINNER SAFE HORSE - THANK GOD MY HUSBAND WAS NOT IN THE CART - THAT WAS WHO THE HORSE WAS TO BE FOR AND THEY KNEW THAT. HIS HEALTH IS SUCH THAT IT WOULD HAVE KILLED HIM HAD HE BEEN IN IT!!!! HE NEVER CALLED AGAIN, I CALLED HIM HE OFFERED US A PONY AS TRADE (FOR THE SPOTTED DRAFT)WHICH COULD NOT HAVE DONE THE JOB AT ALL. THEN HE SAID HE HAD NEVER TOLD US HE WAS SAFE - HIS GIRLFRIEND HAD AND HE WAS NO LONGER WITH HER - WHAT A LIAR. DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM AT ALL!!

If he still hasn't answered you then I would call the cops and make a complaint. All of the horses were gone? Is your horse being fed?. I would get your horse out of there. And if your worried get the vet to do a check, you didn't do that when you purchased him?

By "stuff" what do you mean? If he is simply missing his coggins, just pull another one - it's $20 here. I can understand your frustration about finding him but unless your horse is missing his registration papers, it's no big deal.

I'm also confused about who John is in relationship to the barn you board at. Is John the owner of the stable and that is why you need to pay him board?

It seems to me that you are making more of this then need be - unless that isn't the whole story.

(White Foot - her mom expected the horses to be gone - not that they were. Calling the cops for what?)

From your other threads I thought the person you bought the horse from was the barn owner where he was kept. Not someone who has to fork over money for board.

Has this changed or did I some how not understand you before?

Call your vet, get yourself a new negative coggins (as you should anyway, you should have one in your name). This will give you the opportunity to start a relationship with your vet.

Pay the board if you are boarding some where that is not the person you bought the horse from because the barn owner should not be out money because of this.

If the person you bought the horse from is the owner of the barn you are boarding at find yourself a new barn and move the horse and be done with this person you obviously do not want to deal with.

Well....unless you enjoy all this drama.
