I've been thinking about it for a while now and have even been browsing but nothing has caught my eye and if a horse doesn't catch my eye right off I've learned it usually doesn't work out. I had an instant connection with Chanti, my first mare Sugar, and my QH mare Squeaker I sold a few years ago and they all worked out. But with hubby getting his new mare in a few weeks the frustration of having a horse and not being able to ride her has really gotten to me. I LOVE Chanti, she is worth her weight in gold just because I can put any beginner on her and she takes care of them. She never acts stupid in any way. But she's naturally lazy and she's just more a lesson or trail mount, when she's sound anyway. When I had my old mare I was riding just about every day, nothing stopped me. I loved riding. I haven't loved riding lately because my horse is usually lame and if I even think she's off I don't ride her so hubby rides alone. I want a horse I can trail ride, take to the shows, parades, etc.
I have actually found a mare that drew my interest.
She is an 8 year old QH, red dun and the ad said 14.2 but to me it looks like she could be taller than that. She looks like she has good conformation and she doesn't have any markings. Her color and her build remind me so much of my old mare Sugar. Her name is Dolly and she's 3 hours away
Her price is pretty low and she's broke to ride. The ad said she neck reins, listens good and is very gentle. She's had 2 foals. I already sent an email asking for more pics and I asked some questions. I'll have to find out a lot about her before we go see her. A 3 hour trip to see a horse is pretty far, if we do make the trip I'll probably have already made up my mind to get her lol. Here's the pic from the ad. Anything conformation wise would be helpful.
