I want to become a stablehand in the Gainesville area

Not sure if this is the appropriate area to post this, but I just recently started at UF and since I just moved here and I don't know a lot of people yet, I'm having a little trouble finding a barn. I don't have my own horse (I wish!) but when I lived in Davie, FL (right by Ft. Lauderdale, but a smaller town) I just worked around the barn at a boarding stable and in exchange I got to ride the horses. I ended up falling in love with this one horse and making a lot of great friends who basically turned into my best friends/family and now that I'm up here I miss being around horses and riding so much! I was thinking of joining the Equestrian Club/Team, but meetings do not resume until September and there is no way I can survive that long without horses in my life. So does anyone know of any barns in the Gainesville/Ocala area that might need a little extra help and would be willing to let me ride? If you want to you can just email me since it is more direct, please PM me for my email.

Try facebook. There are bound to be local horse groups for that area. It's how I found my current job. I posted I was looking for barn work and had years of experience. That day I was hired at an excellent barn. Have been working weekends for months and now I start full time next week.
