I WILL kill you if I see you again. Nobody hurts my horse.

I'm furious. Absolutely fuming.

So I have been leaving my two paint studs Jester and Gringo over at my trainer's place while the foals are out in the pasture and stuff, plus they are both due for a tune-up since I'm in school and can't work them as much. They've been falling behind.

Well, my trainer brought in a new boarder last week who is kind of a shady character. He didn't seem too bad....just reserved. I tried to be friendly, joking and stuff. And when I walked over there after feeding the other horses at my house to ride them both, He was standing in front of Jester's stall, staring at him. And Jester was MAJORLY freaking out. He was plastered to the back of his stall, eyes almost completely white and there were dents in the stall where he had kicked. I shooed the guy away and calmed him down. But the poor boy nearly jumped into my lap. He had the "MOM! SAVE ME!" look about him. I asked the new guy if he'd seen anything, and he said that he had stopped because the horse was freaking out in his stall and he was concerned. Okay, whatever. I thanked him for checking and just ponied Jester behind Gringo (for being stallions, they're friends for some reason) instead of riding him. I didn't want to stress him out.

Alrighty, so a few hours ago I walked over to do the evening feeds for all the boarders and my trainer's personal horses and stuff. I do that to pay off my use of the facilities and board when I move my horses there. I stepped in and Jester was freaking out again, he kicked a hole through the stall door and broke his feeder. This time I found the new guy inside with a lunge whip, and he hit Jester with it!

I was pissed. I had my rifle with me (Wild animals roam at night between my house and my trainers. Dangerous to walk without a rifle) so I pointed it at him and called the police. I had Toni come out and we held him at gunpoint until the cops got there. They arrested him and poor Jester was glued to my hip for a long time before he relaxed enough for me to go home. Toni promised to check on him every few hours. He doesn't seem to be too scarred with anyone who normally is with him, but I swear if I see that ******* again I'll shoot him. Jester is my baby and whoever mistreats him is going to get it. Mom came and helped me and Toni check him over and wrap him up. Boots and stuff. He had a cut on his leg where he kicked through the door. I gave him some rescue remedy and chamomile in some feed to relax him a bit.

I don't think he'll be permanantly damaged. He still seems to trust me and everyone else.....He's never been a horse to judge everyone by one action. I'm just furious anybody dared attack him. Toni claimed the new guys horses too...He had boarded two there. A little sorrel mare and a yearling colt. Glad we have them now. That mare has breeding back to Smart Little Lena, Peppy San Badger, and A Paint Cadillac. Three Bars, Doc Bar....the whole nine yards if I remember correctly. And that colt is her baby, so we scored there too. One good thing out of a bad situation.

I'm trying to think positively...even though I'm so furious I can't even think straight.

Cookies if you read all that...

He would have been missing some toes had that been me. Self defense and all that. Any word on why he did it?

That's bizarre, kudo's on keeping a straight head.

Did you figure out what the guy's motivation for attacking was?

Oh wow. Poor horse. Had he attack his own horses as well, that you know of? Or just yours? I love that you held him at gun point.
How badly did he hit him?
Good luck with his cut, is it deep?

I'm a cop and would only add this - make SURE you go to court when you get summonsed for that. If you don't go to court to testify, the guy is going to walk and all of the charges will be dropped.
