This past weekend, I made the leap - I am a horse owner once again! On Saturday, I went with my wonderful husband to Charlestown Races and Slots to view a horse that I'd been admiring online. I found her on www.canterusa.org. She's exactly what I wanted, so I had a PPE done that day, and bought her.
She's about 16.2, 4 years old. Her registered name is Buddhaful Song, which I'd like if it wasn't spelled like that, so I am planning to call her something else. I haven't settled on a name though. I've had a few suggestions from my family to call her "Vintage II" because she resembles my old horse...lol.. what can I say, I love roans!
She is my first OTTB, and she's quite energetic, so I know I'll have my hands full with her. I do love a challenge though! I'm so excited to get her home and let her out in a pasture. Poor girl will be stuck at the track until Dec 1st, when my trainer's barn will have an opening.
I can't get her video to work here, but here are some pictures!
This is her sale picture, where she looks more bay with roan than gray. Maybe it's her summer coat? This picture was taken in August. It'll be interesting to see how her color with change over the years. Thank goodness she's gained some weight since then.
Here she is having a stareoff with my husband.
During the PPE
And finally a color comparison to my old horse
