I'm sick and tired of it. *rant

Today I had a riding lesson for the first time in months. I decided to take it more for Athena's benefit, not mine. I just get the feeling that she's really bored all the time, and that having someone tell us what to do and improve on would give her something new to work with.
The lesson went alright, and when I was done I put Athena on the cross ties while I talked to the trainer. Meanwhile, one of the new workers if fighting with the boss because she doesn't like to be told how to ride horses correctly. The story goes like this...
The new worker has fallen in love with one of the barn owner's broodmares. The broodmare has been recently broke, and the new worker wants to ride her, but the BO wants her to ride her the way she wants her to. I see nothing wrong with that IMO, but the new worker does.
So this new worker is all POed and walks over to me, the trainer, and Athena. She doesn't say anything, but grabs one of the cross ties Athena is on, and leans on it and swings it back and fourth. Then Athena, probably because she's annoyed, nudges her with her nose. Then the new worker just explodes and ATTACKS my horse! She yanking the cross ties really hard and starts to hit her the face and neck. After I'm yelling my head off at her to stop (and MANY other things), she starts dropping the fbomb and other curses while the trainer is right infront of us! The trainer walks away kinda shocked while the newbie is still cursing, and I'm fuming next Athena trying to calm her down.
I told the manager about it, but I'm still mad and worried about Athena. I know for a fact that this newbie does not like my horse. She has given me the pleasure of hearing her say it many a time. I don't know why, nor do I care. That doesn't give her the right to hurt my horse. She can't pick and choose the horses that she should treat with respect. She's working at a boarding barn, a place where people should feel happy and safe about leaving their horses there for others to care for. I can NOT understand why she hasn't been fired yet. This not the first time she has done something like this.
Now I feel like I can't trust anyone while leaving Athena there without having Jess (girl who works there & lives across the street) make sure nothing bad happens to her. I shouldn't have to rely on one person like that. If I had the money to move her, Athena would not be boarded there.

Wow what a witch!!! I totally get that your worried for your horse. She acts like she is the Be All to horse and folks.Glad you stood your ground and voiced your dislike to her. What a twit.Hope this can be resolved w/o incident.

That is unacceptable. I hope the BO does something about it. Her attitude alone is enough for her to be let go. Mistreating a horse, especially one that is not hers, makes it, IMO, necessary.

You should feel safe leaving your horse there. If the BO respects her clients, she will understand, and strive for that.

I think if I ever saw someone hitting my horse I would be so flipping mad. I could probably give them a few good shots to the face.

It doesn't sound like the new girl is a very good person and probably won't hold the job for very long.

Green Broke
Ya, I would definitely tell the BO that either the situation is taken care of or you might not feel comfortable to stay. I know you said you don't have the means to move, but if it gets worse, you might have to. Plus if you left, the BO would be loosing income, and having to pay this idiot to be there and risk losing someone else. So by putting that idea in their head, they might be more willing to do something about it, especially if you explain that you are serious. Good luck and hope that person gets fired!!

OMG I am so sorry this happened to you and your horse What a horrible person that is to attack a poor innocent horse! I hope you fully explained what happened to the BO. What did the BO say when you told them? I would go the other people who saw what that nut case did and have them speak to the BO as well. Maybe it will help the BO realize the seriousness of that if he/she hears it from others as well.

Wow. If I ever saw someone hitting Samson I would seriously go ape %&^* on them. I'm not normally an agressive person but I would seriously knock the crap out of them. I would 100% not stand for that. Theres no need for it and that person does NOT need to be working at a boarding barn.
