Impulse shopping...Sigh. Strikes again. (Pic Heavy)

So a couple of weeks ago I was browing Craigslist which, admittedly, I may have a little problem with doing. I had been thinking all day about the plans for my little herd. I knew Holly, my QH, would be going to training next month, and that Gulliver is headed to his new home soon. Ultimately my plans for Holly are to have her trained, then shown by her trainer for a while as far up as potential takes her, so I knew that if all goes as planned, she'll be away from home a while.

Well, half the danger had already been wandered into as I opened up the CL app on my phone and began browsing. A page in, the trap lay waiting. Blue Roan Paint Filly. Interesting color! I opened it. WHAT A CUTIE! Her price was right, and the seller stated she'd accept trades.

So...long story short, some negotiations later, battling over transportation issues, giving up, forgetting filly, and then being told seller would be in town near me by fate...here she is in my pasture. =)

She's skinny, has a wormy belly, was filthy yesterday coming off the trailer from rolling, and a bit scuffed up, but! She's pretty adorable if you know how to look at potential!

She has a very pretty lope and she's a decent size for a not-yet-yearling. She'll be 12 months in August and is off a grey APHA stud and an AQHA dam. She came with her APHA breeder's certificate signed and ready, so now comes the FUN NAMING PART!

Edit: I left the paper in the truck, so I'll have to get back to you with Dam name. Sire is APHA Estacado Blues.

OH! And she's NOT a blue roan as stated. I believe she'll end up greying out like sire. She's a very weird sun faded color right now, but we'll see!

And here are some pics!

Time for a fly mask and sunscreen purchase!

Wow I love the coloring on the left side of her head! She's a pretty girl!

For names... for some reasons something with Moon in it comes to mind. Don't know why though. :/ She looks like a moon something, or something moon.

Oh no. I didn't trade any of mine for her. The ladies selling her were very nice. They'd purchased her from a friend outside of Houston and helped the friend find a good home for her.

The youngest girl (looked to be my age or a bit younger), was so sweet and had really bonded with the filly since she'd arrived with them 2 days earlier. I told her she's welcome to come back anytime with notice to visit her as they only live about 15 miles up the road from me.

She is a really nice size already! She's almost as tall as Holly (14.2). She just needs some time in the pasture, good hay, good feed, sunscreen, and a BATH. Lol

Oh. And a trim on those hooves.
