    Instructor Issue Updates!

If anybody read my last thread about my instructor who in a sense stabbed me in the back I have an update. For those who didn't here's a recap. A WB breeder sent me a mare to train, our contract lasts till May. The mare came up lame about 2 weeks ago with splints. Not a big deal, we have a good relationship. She's out till she's better. The breeders had another mare my coach was training for 2 month's. Breeder's stopped the training on good terms and it was decided I'd ride this mare til my girl is better. My coach up and told the breeder's that if they wanted me on the mare they had to find a differant barn. And she lectured me about cleaning up the barn and generally treated me very ****ty.

Me and my mom cancelled lessons for December because my coach put me on the oldest slowest horse when there was a green horse I was supposed to ride. Some larger lady who hasn't ridden in 20 years was put on the green horse. Punishment for me? So me and my mom canceled our December lessons. Usually its a 30 day required thing but stuff went down between my mom and my coach that made her recind the 30 day thing. So I'm taking December off of riding, taking it easy, going to wait till my mare is better. My coach goes to Florida for 3 month's starting in January. When I get back it'll be better.

My mom actually asked me if I wanted to switch barns. Told me I didn't really need a coach. Which as much as I love her confidence in me I do need a coach and won't be switching barns...for now.

I hope it works out for you. Good call on being able to admit you still need a coach, you're never too experienced to need one! Enjoy your month off, that must be nice in a way...wish I could get one of those. :)
