Interesting request for Halloween costume ideas!

So I know there have been several other posts already for costume contest ideas.. but I have slightly a different request:

Does anyone have any ideas for how I can dress up my horse and incorporate my friend & I into it?

I am participating in a trail ride which has a costume contest following and my best friend doesn't have a horse to take. I said maybe we can do the costume contest together then! It's next Saturday so I don't have much time to prepare.

I thought it would be cute to make my horse a princess (he's a boy, I know I'm cruel.. ) and we can ride double on him and be a two-headed dragon. But I can't sew very well so I don't know how that would work.. But does anyone else have any other ideas? I want to make it really good this year

One thing I've learned working with horses: You can FORCE a horse to do something on a tight rein and he might do what you ask or you can TEACH a horse to do something on a loose rein and he will do it willingly with his heart.

How long is the ride going to be? Turn your horse into a carriage and you two into horses to pull it. No sewing needed. Just cut out cardboard in desired shapes, paint it and attach to clothing/tack. ;) or more futuristic: ever seen Starwars ep. I? The podrace?

Of course, depends on how forgiving your horse is with walking behind you (i. e. don't use a stallion :P)

Halloween is such fun :) I hope we get to celebrate it a little, too. Good luck and have a great time :)

How many friends? How about Dorthy, Tin Man, and the Scarecrow!

I like the double headed dragon idea. Maybe dress in all green, and wrap alarge piece of green fabric around you and your friends bodies.

One halloween party dressed my horse up as an angel, and I dressed as the devil. You could be two devils, and make her an angel. Or even dress her up as something, and you be an angel, friend is the devil. You can make a blonde wig, get a feather boa, and use fabric to make a dress for the horse. I dunno

Or maybe two devils riding an angel/vice versa. Lots of symbolic value there.

Easy! Turn your horse into a 2 humped camel. You and your friend are the humps!

How about Glinda the Good Witch of the north and Elfaba the Wicked Witch of the West on the Horse of a Different Colour?

Good Witch - princess dress, golden curls, crown and wand
Wicked Witch - green face and hands, black dress and black hat
Horse - all different colours! Use red, green and blue non-toxic paint or Kool-Ade and clip some rainbow coloured hair clips into mane and tail, glitter on the hooves.

Sometimes I wrestle with my demons. Sometimes we just snuggle.

I like the wizard of Oz ideas, but I'm short on time & can't seem to find anything for those :(

But... I think we might make him a "pimp"! Haha, we're dressing in boots & fishnets and going to walk beside him. I made a big necklace with a dollar sign, and I'm going to get some glasses & a hat for him to wear. I think we might give him sparkly hooves and a boa too. Then write "who's your daddy?" across his butt!

I have a palomino - we've done the Pale Horse of Death several times. I put on a grim reapers costume and ride him around scaring people :)

If you go with your pimp idea (cute, btw) mix glitter with hair gel and stencil him with it. It washes right out and you can put all kinds of designs on him.
