Issue with half chaps/paddock boots

I have to Ariat All Around III suede half chaps and I've been wearing them with some Somerset paddock boots. I wear a size 7 1/2 and the boots are a size 5. I took out the insoles and they fit a little better but still kinda tight.

I went and got some Saxon Equileather paddock boots today and the 7 1/2 pinched my toes. I went with an 8 and bought them (I tired them on but I didn't have my half chaps). Now being at home, I'm not liking them so much. When I zip my half chap down, it pushes the outside of the boot in, where the zipper of the chap ends, and it annoys me. The boots are a little big overall. When I bend my ankle and put my heels down, the zipper bends weirdly.

I don't really know if all paddock boots will do the same thing as mentioned above with the half chaps, where the outside is pushed in. The chaps are a slim, so that may be why. I don't really know what to do at this point. I'm going to look on Ebay for some Ariats, but will I still have that same half chap issue? Thanks!

Are you looking for just around the barn boots?
If so I recommend the ariat terrains. Kinda look like a hiking boot. Because they're lace ups they tend to fit me better. If the chaps are sitting oddly you won't feel it!
Also stupidly comfy

Add: It seems like the half chap is too narrow to fit around the boot right. When I try to zip it down, it has to tighten and push into the boot. Any boots that might fit better?

I second the Terrains. They're all I ride in. I have never had a fit issue with half chaps. I can also wear these boots literally all day doing all sorts of stuff and they are super comfy.
