Jockey Club/PedigreeQuery confusion

Hey guys,

Do any of you know anything about the Jockey Club or Pedigreequery? My mare Demi is supposedly not registered, yet I find her pedigree on pedigreequery. Can you put a TB pedigree on there without them being registered? She does not have a tattoo, nor was she ever raced. I know those things for a fact. But there has been some confusion about whether or not she is registered. We have the papers that were GOING to be put through to the JC but never went in (unpaid stud fee, her sire's fee was a lot so we can't just pay it now). We have weanling photos which say the name of the horse that is in the JC database but I don't know if that means she is registered or not....

I can PM you her pedigreequery name if you want. Just don't want to put it out in public.

Sorry if that was unclear. Ask me if you can't understand what I'm saying... I'm a bit confused myself

Thanks in advance!

Weanling
Hey, pedigreequery is updated by the public..which means they can say a horse's pedigree is whatever they want, so I am pretty leary of it. My TB was raced and is tattooed. When I looked up his pedigree, he came up with the same pedigree as "another" horse. More research showed the "other" horse was him, he had been added to the site under different names. I had to rely on the JC and his tattoo to tell me who he really is.

I think I would assume she is unregistered. PM me her predigree name, I have a JC account. Maybe can find something for you.

Thanks for the reply. For some odd reason I can't PM you from my phone but I want to see what you find so I guess I will just tell you. Lol. The name is Red Hot Ransom. I didnt think anything of it until I saw her weanling photos. On the back they said " Red Hot Ransom. 2003 filly." it just confused me!
