Just a good day!

Hi all,
Just very excited right now and wanted to share mine and my boy's progress! Today, while at practice, had him lope a nice large circle both ways without dropping his shoulders on the correct lead and he loped without me having to kick, just a light tap and kiss. (something we've been having trouble with) He also loped a tighter circle with other horses (in drill) and managed to speed up and slow down perfectly when I asked and without breaking down into a trot (one of our problems). And when I asked for a stop, instead of his normal lope, trot, walk, stop he always does, he shifted his weight back and slid to a stop with only a deep woah, deep seat, and slight pick up of the reins!

And to top it all off, I was told that most of the time I sit perfectly (ear, shoulder, hip, heal) but every so often I lean back like 1in too far. For me, that was one of the best things for me to hear, I always think I sit aweful.

He was far from perfect tonight (he didn't want to stay at the trot during cavalry and around corners) so I know what to work on and I have two weeks until next time (hopefully I can fix those problems) But he's 100% better and he got alot of praise and pats tonight. (did I mention he loaded himself in the trailer going and coming home? He did )

AND, I might get to borrow my dad's saddle (only if it fits my horse)! Its a whole lot lighter (weight wise) than the one I have and well, I have a tall horse and Im short, so its hard to saddle him.

Well, now I got to write an english paper that's due tomorrow (horses are more important, right? well my mom doesnt think so )

'Night all!

That sounds just so very satisfying. Doesn't it just make you walk on clouds all day to have someone say you have a good seat? Congrats!
