Red face Just the little things..

So I just got Duchess yesterday and all ready the little things she does makes me feel all warm and loved inside. Whenever I approach her, I have a carrot in hand so that when she sees me she thinks of something positive. She's already started walking towards me when I go up to her and her ears are always pricked when she sees me.
Today I really wanted to work her but by the time I got off of work it started down pouring. By the time it let up it was getting too dark to do anything. So, I walked out, gave her a bit of carrot and a great big hug on her neck. I was kind of worried that she would pull away or back up but she didn't! She let me have my hug and I felt so warm and happy when I left!

Its these silly little simple things that are really making fall head over heal for this silly horse after only 2 days!

I love that stuff too!

I turned twist out in this huge pasture we have. And when I go catch him, I call to him. He pops his head up and trots towards me...<insert dreamy sigh>

Sounds like you two are starting off together really well!

That is awesome that she is so comfortable with you already. Maybe she knows that she won't be "cowboyed" anymore and that makes her happy. I can't wait to see the difference in her demeanor under saddle when you start riding her from what she was in the vid you posted.

^^ I completely understand the dreamy sigh, I think most horse lovers do. LOL

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/

Well Jan is pushing me to ride her on Tuesday. I don't know if I can get a video of it or not. I'm kind of nervous. =/ Lol So..we'll see!

Things have been going very well but I also havnt actually done anything with her yet =/. I imagine issues may pop up when we start working her. Then again, maybe not. *crosses fingers*
