So many of you know that last year my mom rescued a couple of horses and kindly dumped one of them on me. Well at first I really didn't want this malnourished mean-spirited filly, but I also didn't want her to go somewhere where she would just end up on meat truck. So after we fattened her up I started working on training her and breaking her out. Well she really did a 180 and became a filly I really liked working with. However I don't need 5 personal horses and with 3 other horses on my property that the owners more or less strap me with feeding and caring for that makes me responsible for 8 horses. I know my limit and I am at it. So even though I really do like Fancy I had been considering selling her. She has a lot going for her and I was perfectly fine waiting if it meant finding her a perfect home with someone she clicked with.

About 2 weeks ago the girl that is "boarding" one of her horses with me brought up her cousin to ride with her and she told me he is interested in buying a horse for himself and his 4 year old son. I told him I had a horses I was considering selling and proceeded to show him Fancy. He fell in love with her! The next day they came back asking if he could take her for a test ride. I said sure and after we tacked her up and had my friend ride her for a minute ( I couldn't as I just had surgery to get my appendix out), after which he hopped on her. They clicked almost instantly and she worked really well with him. He asked me how much I was looking to get for her and I told him. He though about it and worked and loved her a bit more before saying he would bring half of it down this weekend.

Sure enough yesterday he came over handed me half of her sale price and then spent probably a good 3 hours with her. i think they will work really good together and even though she is a bit on the small side at just under 14hh he fits her really well. Plus she still has time to grow and mature. I also think it is a good sign that they get along so well since Fancy normally does not like men (she was abused by men before we got her). He will be by next weekend to pay off the remaining balance. However I am quite excited to have sold her and to have found her someone that gets along really well with her.
