Justice for Critter (horse shot in AR)

http://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/398677830180749/

This is Critter's Story.

Sunday the 8th of July, 2012, Critter got out of his pasture due to tree having part of fence down.

Heidi Gatz Laughlin and her son Rickie, who is the horse's owner, were walking to get the horse, calling to him. He came running down the road to them, when the neighbor stepped out and shot the horse, wounding him in hip horrifically.
...
Rickie fainted, causing Heidi to think for a horrifying instant the her child had been shot too.

The horse is being cared for by Dr. Rice at The Family Vet, but may require further surgery at OKC, as bullet is in there still at depth of 12 inches possibly. May have been hollow point bullet, which is designed to tear flesh to hamburger.

If you could help with this, the vet is Dr. Rice, and the address is The Family Vet 1262 Hwy 62 West, Berryville AR 72616. You may call and say you would like to donate to the care of the shot 2 year old horse. Vet number is 870-423-2211.

Arvest Bank has also allowed Rickie to open an account for Critter's medical needs. The information on that account is as follows.

28964474 is the account Number and it is Arvest bank of Huntsville Arkansas.

Any help that can be given would be so gratefully appreciated.

I think someone said an arrest/charges are pending.
And somebody posted this info:
The horse is doing better, it's dragging his back leg, but the vet said it may take up to 6-9 months to heal, and no one really knows how it will heal up. Or if it will be effected mentally. After such an injury, anything like a bee or fly on it's rear, could cause it to go balistic, ( what the vet said)...we just don't know... The colt ( Critter) is going to be taken to OSU for xrays, to see if the bullet can be removed, and to determine exactly how much damage is done...unfortunetly, the donations were not enough to cover all the vet exspenses, ( it was so nice of you all that donated..Thank you) The x rays will be exspensive too,...I am going to be taking the horse there for her, but I don't know how she will be able to afford it...it may even need surgery...they just don't know yet...but, Critter is on pain meds, antibiotics, etc..and hanging in there~ I am hoping that the man responsible will be liable for the vet bills...I am praying that he has to pay

and:
We need to keep the ball rolling with donations for the care of the 2 yr old colt shot in Madison county...The sheriff's office are doing an investigation, and an arrest is pending~ But, Heidi really needs our help, the colt ( Critter) is going to have to go to OSU for xrays and possibly need to have surgery. Heidi is a single mother, with no child support, raising 3 boys~ please help save Critter!!...send donations to: Dr. Wes Rice, 1262 Highway 62 West, Berryville, AR 72616...or call (870) 423-2211
Thank you all for your support

They are also trying to get people here to go over and check and repair her fence for her so the horse doesn't get out again.

Funny, I just deposited a few paychecks. Does anyone know approximately how much the vet fee is as a whole and/or how much money still needs to be raised? I'm considering donating some if the amount won't endanger my family (we're not financially great at the moment).

Horrible. The guy who did it certainly needs to be punished in some way!
One thing I just noticed, looking through the FB page,is that the date on the picture of the colt's wound all cleaned up is 2007? The date on the camera must be set wrong or something..

I don't think they know the total at this time. They will be taking the horse to OSU for Xrays and evaluation. I'm sure any amount will be greatly appreciated.
