Kentucky Derby

Derby is only 3 days away now. Who's your pick for the race? Will you be watching? Throwing a Derby party? Going to?

I asked for it off at work, but apparently so did everyone else I work with for various other reasons. So now I am stuck working during it, but there's a tv that I plan on playing it on. Haha.

I have to look them up again as there were some changes. I did like Pants on Fire..partially because of his name. Haha.

At least you are able to watch it on tv. I remember when I had to work one time at a tack store for derby I wasn't lucky enough to have a tv like you will so anybody who came in after the race went off I told them right away no word about the race cause I hadn't seen it yet. Luckily everyone was kind enough not to say anything.

I'll be there in the infield. My boss automatically writes me off in the calendar by now.

My picks:
Animal Kingdom-He has looked really good in all his races but has never run on dirt. However, after videos of him work at Churchill down, I am hoping he can be just as good on dirt as he is on synthetic.

Nehro-This horse has improved in every start he has made. He never looks tired in his races, like he could keep running around a second time and leave the others behind.

I'm really sad about The Factor and Toby's Corner being scratched. They were major contenders and the Derby will be a weaker race without them.

Help me horse forum! You're my only hope!

Do you know what time it is on?

Horses are scared of two things... Things that move and things that don't.

The tv at my work is meant for guests, but hey, it's usually got sports on and TB racing is very much a sport. Haha.

I also told my manager since he was making me work, he had to pick a Derby contender. I mentioned Pants on Fire. His reaction was priceless. It would be so fantastic if Pants on Fire won the Triple Crown. Can you imagine people listing the last few? Citation...Secretariat...Seattle Slew...Affirmed.....Pants on Fire.

Also love the name Pants on Fire. It's fantastic. His bloodlines are pretty good too. Curious to see what post position they get.

You just have to see your distance...you don't have to like it.

I found out today that I will be at a horse show on Sat but you can bet my DVR will be recording it and I will watch as soon as I get home.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/

I'll be watching with my sister, we split the field in half and bet on who wins, I had a perfect record until last year so I am hoping to retake my crown :)

You are never better than anyone. Every rider has skills they need to improve. The only one you must compare yourself with, is you.
