Kinda Crazy Offer?

My best horsie friend text me the other day saying that a lady wants to know if I would board my horses at her ranch with her horses in exchange for going up daily and making sure they are ok and watered. Sounds like she have 9 horses, so not as many as I thought considering she is offering to pay for feed and board for my 3 girls all winter. She lives in ND and he horses are here in MN. She has an indoor arena which she keeps reminding me of that I could use everyday for free. I don'rt know what to do, right now I am broke broke broke and saving for my wedding. The ranch she owns in not to much of a drive but I'm scared I won't be able to afford the gas to get every where i need to go and be able to honor my word to get up there every day. I haven't met with her in person yet or seen her facility. I really want to jump at it except for the gas issues.

What do you guys think? I told you pretty much everything I currently know about the deal. What should I ask her about? Any concerns?

If you decide to accept the offer, you need to get a written contract signed and notarized before moving your horses there.
Protect your self and your horses because this just sounds a little iffy to me.
I dont know the lady but if you do and trust her IMO finding the money for gas instead of paying board would not be that difficult.
You know the limits of your finances. Make your decision accordingly. Shalom

If you could only get up there once a day, or maybe not even that if you're out of gas money, how would the horses be fed/watered twice a day? Would they be alone except when you were there? If so I wouldn't do it. My old barn had no one living on the property and my filly ended up getting seriously injured without anyone knowing about it for almost half of a day. It almost cost her her ear.

The lady goes out there on the weekend and put out new round bales for her horses to eat and I guess several tanks of water. I guess I kinda want to meet with her to at least see what she has going on up there.

Considering the lady is paying for board and feed, surely you're in a better financial position keeping them there?
