I'd say fix this situation NOW before it gets ANY worse. Either put your foot down, maybe up somewhere to get some action or secure your horses in your fence! You need to make sure your horses are safe especially with the coming foal. That's most important, I can't stand dealing with incompetent horse owners. UHG - just reading this makes my blood boil. You need to fix it before another horse gets hurt and may have to be put down, it could end up being your mare next if things aren't fixed...

I told her she needed to come and fix the fence. And that she would be here in the mornings and at night to feed when I did because I wasn't feeding hers and they would end up hurt because they would want food. And she said well I guess we will fix a fence at our house to put them in. And now I am the bad person. But, you know what if you never have liked horses, know nothing about horses, and now decide that you want a MINI then you need to put it on your own land. I told my mil how pissed I was too! So now she is upset. I told them both my mare would be in the stall until the problem was fixed. I will just bring her out to graze in my yard during the day for awhile. I am so freaking over today!

What the actual +&@#!!! That us just ridiculous. I can not stand stupid incompetent people!! This makes me so mad. I'm sorry you're having to deal with this BS. I would not be a nice person right now if it were me and they would all know exactly what I think of their stupidity. I'm glad sunshine held off on foaling. Imagine they broke into the pasture with her and a new foal. Minis are a naughty handful!

This is the exact reason you do not share land! Fence off your acre, hot wire it, pay for all own feed and let them take care of their own animals. Talking & bickering, meanwhile horses are being thrown into the mix, good grief! I don't know about you, but I keep my horses for stress relievers, enjoyment and outdoor exercise, not to have more stress & headaches, good luck!

Oh, I'm irate and I have shown my pretty little white ass! Why can you not have nothing? If I had not bought Sunshine this would not of happened. This is ridiculous.

    Foal
Omg That is just plain despiteful. I am glad Sunshine didn't foal this morning. Not only that, but did these gelding even have any vaccination or coggins work done? Sunshine doesn't need major "herd" upsets right now, let along figuring out heirarchy standings! I hate how non horse people suddenly "think" they know everything just from looking on the internet or reading a book. They should of been more considerate and listened to you and your concerns rather then just showing up with not one, but two geldings!

Because they saw you enjoying your horse, they wanted that enjoyment as well. That's how lots of folks acquire livestock, of course they don't see the expense, work and experience that ownership requires to be enjoyable.

Like keeping up with the Jones....I have a neighbor like that. Once we got our horses he was kept saying how he wanted horses. I know he can't afford horses, he is a single dad with 5 kids to raise. I instead offered to let him come up and ride ours whenever he wanted too. Seems to have worked so far!

No worries. Just contain your horses to your property and after they discover ownership is not all fun, but lots of work, they will get rid of those little hayburners. Then you will get some additional pasture use back.
