Today my extended family had a "Christmas/Hanukkah" (I'm not Jewish but I have cousins and an uncle that are) party.
It happened in the middle of the day so I was like "Hey! Does anybody want to come see Lacey when I go to feed her?" I was just expecting my "baby" cousin to come along. However, 2 of my aunts, my mom, and two cousins (my "baby" cousin, who's 13 and not a baby anymore, and another cousin) all decided to come. They're all REALLY city people who love animals, to give you some idea of their excitement about this.
So, we get up to Lacey's field and she's in the lower field, which she likes to run up from, so I was like "Yay! She's going to run for you guys!". She usually just runs up from the lower field and stops by the "barn".
She starts running up from the lower field, gets to the top of that field -by the "barn," sees everyone, spooks at them, and enter *Fancy Ay-rab Canter* -head up and tail flagged-, and goes pogo-stick cantering 3 full circles around the upper field (which she nevvvvvveeeeeerrrr does).
It was really hilarious to see my family go from "Pretty horse!" to ""
My mom was like "Are you sure she's nearly....27????"
My favorite thing was how Lacey really turned on the sass when she saw that I was bringing "strangers", like "Oh! I must impress these city-folk with my power and might!"
She also hardly ever flags her tail, it's like a once every 6 months occurrence, so yknow, that's fun too.
What a funny funny horse.
I think my cousin took some pictures. Hopefully she'll post them on Facebook soon so I can share them with you guys and you can chortle at them as well.
