Like the others I think he's just content/feels safe/enjoying the sun, here's it's been brutal but during the day I've gone down and all five of the horses have been laid out sunning during the day LOL they just open their eyes to see who is there and goes back to sleep.......so long as he seems healthy I don't think I would worry so much about his laying down unless it's most of the time and he doesn't get up....

My horses are the joy in my life.....
