leasing while in school

I have finally gotten all of my college arranged for September! Which is very exciting, I'm taking three Philosophy classes (by fluke, because they were the only ones with lots of seats available, but I'm excited anyway) and will be transiting to school. Basically it's between 1 1/2 hours and 2 hours on the bus and would have me home between 6:30 and 7:00 Monday - Thursday which is clearly not ideal for riding, especially without an indoor. SO I'm thinking about leasing Jackson out, half lease, a couple days a week, but I'm very... nervous.

I still want to be able to ride him, and I still want to be able to jump so I'm thinking about putting him on a joint supplement and permitting whoever leases him to jump once a week maximum, they must be working with a trainer or an absolutely INCREDIBLE rider unless by some chance I find somebody who just wants to plod around. I just... don't know what to do, and am stressing out about it. Thankfully I keep him at home so selling is not an option, I'm not paying board, but it's still an issue. I'm not sure what the point of this thread is, perhaps for advice?

I will just tell you my experience with leasing my horse, which was a great one. I was in college and working a full time job. I boarded my horse and I barely had the time to run out and feed him/clean his stall with my schedule. I rarely got to ride. I hated it for myself and him. There was a girl there that loved him, she didn't have a horse of her but was a family friend of the BO and was there almost daily. Her mother and I spoke and this is what we worked out:

I paid for everything. I covered board and feed and any other normal horse related thing that would come up in doings with him. She was allowed to treat him as her own, could ride him, take him to shows (as long as I was told beforehand), whatever, as long as the BO or another guardian was there (she was 14). I could come anytime I wanted to visit and check things out, but if I were to ride I would call first so that I didn't interrupt any plans that she may have had with him.

Like I said, it was a great experience. He got the exercise and love he needed, she got the joy of having a horse and learned a lot, too. She showed him a good bit in western pleasure and some trail classes, I would go and cheer them both on if I was able to. We stayed in contact a lot, we would speak several times a week with her giving me updates. I know different situations call for different rules, but that is what it was like for me.
