Leather Halters!

ive been looking for a nice leather halter for my Gelding who has a big head! hes in large halters for the fit on his nose and cheeks. and im afreid if i get a horse size it will be too small on him. i would like one that has buckles on both sides and would look nice on him (Flash) without costing a bunch of money (under $50). anyone know of any? i may show him in some open shows next year to see if he would do halter class/showmanship(?) with him.

Hmmm. I know Weaver has a really nice one that fit my old 16.3 Appendix quarter horse. It doesn't have buckles on both sides, but I never had a problem with it. It took 3 years of daily use and still looks show quality. I picked it up at Tractor Supply.

I too have a weaver that i got from TSC. (Probably the same one as Budhorse) But i love it! Its beautiful, well made, has held up well, runs large, and is a nice soft and supple leather. Im a big fan.

If only I knew what brand Major's is! I got it for $30, and it's so nice. It has a braided design on top on the leather, so it looks pretty nice when I have it all cleaned and oiled up.

Plus, I'm sure if you found one at a local store, they'd let you trade it back in if it was too small.. the one near me does. :)

Forever loved, never forgotten; my beautiful Indie. <3 Hoofprints on my heart.

There is a guy I found online who hand makes bunches of horse tack. I just bought a bridle and rein set and it looks very well made and is beautiful!
He says he does the halters to the shape of the horse's head as needed for those hard to fit horses. I am 99% sure he was def. under $50. He posts some of his things on ebay to sell also, so you might find it there, too.
He can be found on Facebook-

Good luck!
