listening to your ipod while ridding

I just got the new issue of horse illustrated and saw a little ad for a site called eqimusic.com and it suggests you should try ridding to music and the site offers music for each gate.Im normally really focused when i'm ridding i dont text and ride or have my phone on me at all and i cant imagine having earbuds in and trying to ride.To me that seems highly unsafe.I was wondering if any of you ride listening to your ipods?if you do what music do you like to listen to?

I don't and I think that it would take your concentration away from riding properly. I have heard that it is good to do. Relaxing and such depending on what music you are listening to.

I could maybe see it as a cooling down type thing but my concentration is to easily broken for me to school while listening to music.

I could see having a small cd player in an arena or something instead of an iPod. Frankly, I'd be concerned about my iPod being broken! If it fell, and was stepped on, it would be done. The arena at the new barn I'm at has speakers in it and you can play the radio in it. I haven't yet, but my BO showed me how.

Well I ride with my iPod but only when I am trying to create a freestyle or par deu deur in dressage. Otherwise if you are training your horse it's isnt a very smart Idea. Unless it helped with feeling your horses rythm....

I used to ride while listening to my Ipod, but always to like calm, ambient music. It was quite nice, but probably unsafe.
