Ha! Yeah, I started seeing dressage saddles. Everywhere. One was $3100! Others were cheapies that were in the $200 range and lower. Some with twisted trees, some that were REALLY beat up.
I found one I wanted, for $200, and it was straight, with a little cosmetic damage. The seat was VERY deep though. This saddle oozed quality, and I could only guess it to be a Stubben, or Passier... It had no brand on it. You could tell it wasn't chincy.
I kept returning to it, yet, couldn't bring myself to talk the dealer down.
The last booth we entered had a Wintec. The BO where I keep my mare has a Wintec that I love to use. It has the ultra sued flaps and seat, and I love it because it helps keep me stable. (old back injury, and no pun intended.)
So, the price on this one was $125. We got them to take $100. Great deal, and if it didn't fit Ojibwa, I could always sell it on Craigslist.
So, now I have my very first dressage saddle. I have an all purpose, but its more for jumping and such.
We just got back from the barn, and the saddle fit both of us perfectly! She even rounded up, carried herself, and was a great girl even though its been since October since she has been under saddle.
I'm so happy!
BTW, this is a HORRIBLE picture of me!
