Looking for horse owners near Washington, Iowa

My husbands family lives in and around Washington, Iowa and every year at Christmas we drive up from Kansas and spend 10 days for the holidays. His family is absolutly great but I find myself being so lonely for horses and it makes for a very long visit.
Just wish I could find some horsey-folks in the near area to have fellowship with in or around a few horses, anything to get my 'horse-fix' for a little while while there....am I weird..
