I'm so sorry.. he looks to have been an incredibly handsome horse and I have no doubts that he meant the world to you, hopefully the rest of the herd perks up within the coming while.

My uncle used to breed Quarter Horses and he had a cremello stallion that he had raised from birth.. my grandparents had owned a convenience store and he would even walk him around in there as a foal. Like your handsome boy, DJ (the four year old stallion) also ended up breaking his leg.. my uncle ended up having to shoot him himself because the vet wasn't available. My mom said it was the first and only time she ever saw him cry.

Again, I'm so sorry for your loss.. normally I'm not a huge fan of Arabians, but he looks absolutely gorgeous.

What an incredible beautiful horse. I'm so sorry, I know that words don't even begin to help the pain of this loss. I lost my first horse at the age of 16 and it altered my life. There are no words to describe the pain. Mourn with the other horses.... they feel it, too.

Im so so so sorry , my heart goes out to you as I know exactly how you feel.I also lost my Princy suddenly and tragically 2 years ago.It takes a long time to move through it, and there are still days when I look at his picture or talk about him and cry. It hurts to lose dog or a cat,as we love them also...but the sadness of losing a horse is somehthing difficult to explain ,only another horse person knows can really know how you feel today. Know that our hearts are with you and prayers for drifter surround him.

    Godspeed Drifter.

My seven yr old Morgan mare broke a leg in April. I still think about her nearly every day.

    Thanks everyone. :(
Copper, I can only guess he slipped while playing and ended up going down wrong.
Stormy, I think you nailed it. It's a different sort of pain, for sure.

I am soooo sorry :( I have been in your shoes and know how badly it hurts. He was such a beauty. Again...I am so very sorry!

My condolences... It's such a hard thing to go through. My mare had to be euthanized 3 1/2 years ago and I still haven't really gotten over it... And she was 24. I can't imagine what it would be like to lose one so young. I hope you can find comfort in your other four-legged beauties!
