Two weekends ago my friend and I drove down to Vancouver Washington to pick up my new trailer. On the drive down we were talking about how similar we were when we were kids, granted she's 45 and I'm 22 but we still have a lot in common. One of things we brought up was when we were both little girls whenever we were on the road and saw a truck hauling a horse trailer we would watch that trailer until it was out of site knowing one day we would be hauling our very own trailer with our very own horse in it. Now, driving back with the trailer Mindi said she felt wonderful knowing she could give that inspiration to any little girl in the passing cars.
Well this weekend I saw that little girl. It was my first time hauling my trailer. My trainer and I went to a local schooling show with Caleigh and her TB. We took her big Ford F350 hauling truck and my trailer. On the way home we were caught in a little bit of sluggish traffic, not too bad but enough to drop you from 60mph on the freeway to 40 and then near a merging ramp down to 15. While we were at 15mph I glanced over and saw a little girl maybe 10 or so, nose pressed to the window pointing at the trailer. She had that classic "Oh my gosh HORSES!!!" look on her face. I smile and waved and she smiled and waved back!
It made me warm and fuzzy inside.
Here's what she saw. It still makes me smile!
