Magnum Update [Pictures!] :D

Well for those of you who don't know who Magnum is, he's the horse that a friend of the family is having me re-train for him. Originally I was told that he had some attitude problems under saddle [bucking, crowhopping, ect. Pretty much just disrespectful under saddle] but when I started working with him in the middle of December I found that he wasn't really being disrespectful under saddle just that he was an emotional train wreck.
He rode like a semi-truck; tense, stiff, fast, unbalanced, go-go type, defensive, ect. I later found out that the reason for this was because last year he had gone to another women for training and I'll just say she's the type of girl I wouldn't even let in my barn. She was using a harsh gag bit on him and constantly on his face yanking him around and used a tie down to force his head down! [And I shouldn't mention this but I feel like ranting a little This same girl is now riding her 15 month old filly!]
But after some work he's become a really nice ride that I wish I could own! He's far from finished but he's come a long way and I'm proud of him. He no longer wants to just race around the arena, and has become balanced and relaxed, and can be ridden at with a loose rein without going ballistic!

First Week He Was Here:

Ooooh nice job, he looks great under saddle! I really like the way he's built, even with winter fuzz he looks gorgeous.

The difference between the last two pictures is AMAZING! In the before pic, he looks very nervous and anxious. In the pic from today, he looks relaxed and chill. Great job!

Yeah, thanks! Like I said he was an emotional train wreck when he came here. Our next task is trailering, when he got here I only knew someone was here because it sounded like the trailer flipped over or something. But he's a lot more patient so hopefully he wont kill my trailer.

He's also dropped about 100lbs and is no longer on the verge of obese, so that's another good thing!

Isn't she the most adorable thing in the world?! I love her, and she's so brave, but she's something out of a horror movie sometimes..if you know what I mean. Her first reaction to him was "he's so BIG" and she saying I should hurry up and get done riding so she could have her turn. <3

He is one hansom boy, that's for sure. Great work with him!
