Major storm (tornados) goes through horse show

Toronto rarely gets tornados but sure did today.

There was a horse show going on at Newmarket (just north of Toronto) and just look at the damage. The arena roof was torn off, trailers flipped (with horses in them) afences/judges boths blown away.

In Toronto multiple tornandos went through on neighbourhood and tore roofs off and flipped cars. There is one reported death.

Anyways here are the pictures of the horse show place. Just a note ..this is the same place where the World dressage Championships were held in 1986.

I've been watching and listening for this. It's really bad in Southern and Eastern Ontario. We even had a waterspout on a lake near here.

Good luck to everyone in Ontario!

wow I had heard there was some bad weather out east. All our digital and hd tv is screwed up because of the weather back there. I hop it gets better.

So sorry to hear about the horse that didn't make it.

That is terrible! Canada has been getting some of the oddest weather that I can ever remember! We had two tornado's in this area in the last couple of weeks.

I didn't know you were a fellow Canadian Spyder! :)

Toronto the city just doesn't get tornados as such and when they do they rarely actually touch down, just stay up in the sky. We do get a lot of straight line winds that can also be pretty severe.

They say it was an F2 that came down and several homes were completely destroyed. The one person killed was in a woodshed when it came down on her.

Wow. Growing up in B.C I never ever had to fear Tornado's what-so-ever. Never came to mind, but felt sorry for those in Tornado Alley who had/has to deal with it on a yearly basis.

Now that I live in MI, we get Tornado Warnings quite often during the summer season, and whenever it storms, I get very paranoid that something might come of it.

That vid is creapy to watch, ugh - I hate the thought of Tornado's. The poor woman in the shed, I bet she had no idea. I hope she went quick with no pain or suffering. R.I.P.

Wow...that video gave me chills! Did you see the flashes of light in the funnel about halfway through? It didn't look like lightening, but rather like it may have taken down power lines or something. Scarey stuff weather can be.

Power was out and is still out in some areas.

This storm is the most severe storm Toronto has had in recorded weather history.
