    Majors change in rank

Since the day I got Major he has always been so passive. He has stayed in a pasture with my sisters horse. My sisters horse has always been the herd leader and Major seemed very content with that...never challenging him. A week ago my sister and I moved our geldings in with a couple of mares. The first day they ran Major around...bit him, kicked at him....you know...showing him who's boss. By the next day...Major was the herd leader!!!!!!! In charge of all 3 of the other horses!!!! I didnt think he had it in him!!!!!! Lol Now the pecking order is Major, mare #1, my sisters horse and then mare #2. I was so worried one of those mares where going to hurt him...he never fails to suprise me!!!!

My mare that I just got about two weeks ago was passive in her old herd- She is now the Queen of the pack here with me. She bosses the two other geldings around.

Moxie...I don't know...but that's an interesting question. I don't have much experience with horses....and this is the first time Major has changed rank since I've had him.
Katie....I bet you were as suprised as me huh

Yeah- super surprised...b/c she is as sweet as can be with me...but those two geldings better keep an eye on her at all times...she is a little brat. When I catch her picking on one of them I tell her "no Addy, BE NICE!" and she stops...but I know she does it behind my back...natural thing I suppose.
