Frankly, no wonder why Animal Control doesnt respond to every call made to them. In my opinion, there are way too many people thinking that horses are "neglected" when simply the living conditions are just not up to their standards, not TRUE neglect.

Again, I am not claiming that the OP is screaming abuse, but sometimes these are threads that that start the wildfire...
I do agree with you. :)

It is far better for OP to be concerned and question, than to sit idly by while animals die.

And have watched that happen enough that I know it is a real possibility too.

If horses look like not getting fed, or don't have water, call AC in area and ask them to check on horses.

I think what cowchick is trying to say is that it's not really necessary to complain about it in a post where people might get fired up and stuff when the OP might not know the whole situation.

Haha well...I have over 200 acres...and no address so if people are really this adamant about finding my property on Google (which took ME over 45 min) there better be a good dang reason.

Personally IMHO if the horses are in bad shape then the thing to do would be go to AC... not post pics of someone's property without their knowledge but if the gorses aren't starving, getting hurt whatever then its not a HIGE deal...jmho

Sorry guys! I was kind of angry at the moment when I posted this and I wasn't thinking clearly. I understand about not posting pictures of property, sorry! I wasn't originally intending to fire people up, I was just kind of in rant mode.

It's okay, but rant or not. It can always bite you in the butt. Just be careful what you post on the internet! I'm sure you wouldn't be to happy if someone posted pictures of your PRIVATE home on an open forum. Yes, it's on google earth and what not, but let others go find it unless you have owner's permission.

Yes, I understand. I have asked an administrator to delete this thread or me.

We have a lot of junk in our pastures. Old tractors, old farming equipment with blades, etc. Is it dangerous? Yes, very much so. I hate the fact that it's there! But it's my Mom's decision to not move it, so I can't do much about it.

For what it's worth, we've had horses on our place for 40 years, and none of those horses has ever been hurt by any of it. They always avoid it, unless they want a good scratch, of course.

    calm down

Personally, and this is a member not a mod, I think not to worry about this. I am pretty sure that this is not the big worrisome problem that some think it might become. No name or address has been given. It is "scenery" , as much as any picture you might take of your surroundings, IMO. No actual abuse is taking place here, from what we can see. Google earth is available to anyone (sadly. Makes me want to put an umbrella over my house, too.)
