making a horse hair stampede string

My next door neighbors 35 year old gelding Red died the day before yesterday. He'd had him a long time, and got him when he was 18 months old so needless to say he was quite attached to him.

He couldn't bear to watch him buried so I took care of it.

To make a long story short, I got some hair from his tail and I'd like to have something made for him from it and was thinking about a stampede string, maybe something else?

Is this something I can do or where should I send it?

Suggestions?

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

How sad...
That was nice of you to help take care of the burial and think of gifting a keepsake :)

I have seen some websites, can't remember the name, that did tassels and hatbands, they might be able to do a stampede string.
And I know of a gal in ID that makes mecates and get downs from yacht rope and puts a horse hair tassel on the end with a hand braided leather knot.

Gunslinger, don't know if you're on Facebook, she might have a site as well. I believe it's called Horse Hair bracelets by Candace. She does keychains, strings, necklaces anything you really ask for she will do. They look great and are a reasonable price!
