Ok laying it all out there- My butt hurts! I had an INTENSE lesson today with Trigger, and we loped so much and did so many roll backs- which he is still learning, that I'm the one saddle sore! Haha, I can't believe the bruise I have from attempting to keep my seat during the lesson I had today. I feel AMAZING about my lesson, by the end it was night and day with where we had started and ended and my trainer was really impressed, but OH MY WORD does my butt hurt! Ha ha, I told my husband how sore I was and he was like "uh I don't need to know that," so what do I do, bring it to the web for other horse folk to admit to how sore they have come from us all not being in the saddle as much over the winter.
Muppetgirl: He was doing awesome with the launches about half way through the lesson, it was me that felt awkward ha ha. Its been a while since I have done roll backs, but my instructor said he looked great.
Sore?? pssf I'll show you sore. Until you have to hold on to the sink and tub to sit down to pee, that's sore. Or until you HAVE to hold on to the arm rail and wall to go down stairs or inch your way down ANY hill, even the slightest, look forward to using ramps at stores, because your legs will buckle under you if you step up or down the curb, that's sore. I may have overworked myself...just a little.
Edit-That shewee doesn't sound such a bad idea anymore
I had three years away from riding and then travelled to a reining show with a friend and ended up warming all her horses up in the pen....I had to REALLY warm them up! Ended up with two baseball sized bruises on the knuckles of my butt!
Happy I'm not the only one who cant sit right on a toilet! Ha ha I did dance most all my life which kept pain from ridding at bay, but now I just ride so I guess I better stretch more! My shoulders and back have joined the fun today with nice throbbing aches. Ha ha Posted via Mobile Device
Yup his original name when our barn got him was something lame, and it took almost 3 weeks to pick Trigger, but it FITS! He has a shot gun personality, and when he lopes it's like pulling the trigger ha ha Posted via Mobile Device
Ouch!
I haven't been on a horse in about 2 years now. Looking to take lessons this month so I can only imagine how sore I'm going to be in the near future.
Go take a nice, hot bath and maybe even lay on your stomach with a warm compress on your bottom. Help relax those muscles.
Wild heart: already taken a couple hot baths good luck with your lessons! I took about 2 years off during high school, got back into when I started college. Best decision! You riding English or western? Posted via Mobile Device
