The ones that shout loudest know the least about horses or racing. Some people want to stop racing because sometimes horses get hurt. Well, that makes sense if you follow through and stop people driving cars because sometimes people get hurt.
The worst is when they bring up tragedies that happened last year or the fake statistics all over facebook.
2 horses died last year neither were any ones fault 1 had a heart attack and the other spooked when someone waved a flag and broke its leg.
This year only one accident occurred and the horse will recover fine and retired which he was going to do anyway after this race. (He fractured his sesmoid)
History was made at the Melbourne Cup yesterday when Michelle Payne was the first woman to win the race. As she said in an interview on her way back into the mounting yard "it was great to show the chauvinists that women can be as good and as strong as men jockeys and the doubters can all go and get stuffed"
Attractive talented lady. Great race. Great win. pity she didn't show a bit of grace in her speech. I don't recall any male jockey showing such a lack of class after a major win.
Can't believe though that a friend of mine said she has no honour because she said 'she beat the world' and apparently that's classless.
