Wow he's STUNNING, glad you are giving a lucky OTT the chance another chance, I admire you for that. Hugs to you!

Nice progress. OTT? Do you mean, OTTB (off-the-track-Thoroughbred)?

Safe to assume he's an Off the track "something" .. I would guess TB.

I notice a trend in au to use OTT ...

Thanks heaps guys, he is a lovely boy. Luckily with all the feed I'm giving him he has stayed fairly sensabile, but definitely not as quiet when I got him.. Which of course is to be expected.
Yes he is Thoroughbred, and he actually is now 5!! Was 4 when I just got him. He has the narrowest chest I have any seen on any horse, but luckily he has a reasonable barrel and when your on him , he feels as solid as they come, that is till you look down and go "where is my horse" lol

Some updated pics of Monte. I think he is looking great, just need to start upping the work a little and working on gaining a topline now he has some weight on him and I don't feel so bad riding him!! Hasn't taken him long to come along, need to look back at posts to see exactly how long but its close to 3 months I think.

Such a lovely boy to do anything with, can't believe my luck in finding this boy We are off for a fund raising trail ride on october 19th and then off to a horse clinic with Carlos Tabenberri in December, can't wait for both!!!

He looks great! I just got an OTTB mare at the start of last month, and although she's been off the track for three years (raced until she was seven).. she was pretty underweight, had bad feet (thrush in all feet plus a bit trim/shoe job) and her training had a bunch of holes. Still working hard, but now she's a bit plumper (although I'm trying to build a topline and add muscle and more weight overall) and her feet are looking much better.. plus she's a completely different horse to ride.

Monte is definitely a handsome boy though, and good luck with the rest of the transition! :)

Look at the shine on that boy's coat!! Get some muscle on that topline and he's going to be STUNNING.
