Monthly goals !

I thought it would be really cool, if most people could participate in this thread, just 1 thing you would like to accomplish this month with your horse, and on this thread updating us on the progress.
I think it would be really awesome if people did participate on this ! and posted photos and videos ;)
If they did not accomplish this in the month that you have chosen it, you can continue it or choose something that will help improve yourself to what you are working towards !

But why are you working towards it, what are you working towards it ? what is the time frame ( you might as well give yourself the whole month and switch it up around sessions, so the horse doesnt get bored)

So let this BEGIN :)

Since it is approching winter months, i would think people should choose things that wont make their horse DRIPPING sweat lol, Just some light weight easy things :)
Like, taking the bit, listening to cues better, ground work, Tieing, etc
:)

Well since there are only three days left in this month, this will be my goal for next month: going through all the "exercises" on my Westfall Horsemanship basic groundwork DVD. I have my stick & string, rope halter and 15 foot lead so I'm ready to rock ;) Plus Lily is a good girl anyway! Want to get her ready for the trainer that will work with her starting in March, yay!

I'll look ahead to November as well. I would like to get my 2 year old shown at a schooling show in the walk/trot classes. There is a show on November 28. I have about 10 rides on Kirby right now. Here's where we were at on ride number 7:

Good thread idea! =D

My goal (for next month since this one is almost over, haha) is to be able to brush the mud off Lacey's legs without getting kicked in the face/leg because she's rather goosey about having her legs be brushed...it's kinda weird.
I might have to make another goal too becuase she might figure that one out quickly but who knows, she likes to foil me.

Fabio - 13 year old Arabian/Lipizzan gelding
Hazel - 14 year old Angora goat

Atticus - 4 year old LaMancha/Alpine cross goat

~
Rest peacefully, Lacey.

Get our canter back. Our trot and walk work have come SO far. But our canter... especially upward and downward canter transitions... are horrid! Ha ha. He's gone back to being a bully about cantering and needs a few refresher rides. Silly boy. :P

I give myself very good advice, But I very seldom follow it
