Mule and the Fair *Rant*

Ok, so those of you who know I've been training a mule for over a month so I could show him in the fair. I emailed the state 4-H horse expert of the entire state and she said that mules are allowed to show, but now my county extension person told me that I couldn't show my mule. Why? Because there were no clases for mules....

I just wanted to scream because of how out of touch they are!!! They should at least know that mules show WITH the horses in the same classes

So i'm VERY upset because I don't want to start a horse all the way from the begining, and I really like this mule and we just started to get somewhere with him...... if they still won't let me use him I'll just say he's a paint but I emailed the head honcho person and hopefully she can talk some sense into the not-so-intelligent extension office ppls.....

Wow, that's horrible. They should know better! :(
Good luck, keep trying.

I hope it turns out that you can show your mule. That really is stupid that they won't let you show him in the same classes as horses! When is the fair?

Just enter him, and if they say something say 'well he's half horse...' or you could say he just has big ears

haha, that was my plan if they wouldn't let me.... register him as paint/ other...

But I got a call and they apologized for the "inconvienence" because I can show a mule with the horses...... emailing people who are in charge pays off!! Thank the lord for the internet!!

You can show your mule in the open classes. That's wierd that she would tell you no.
