For the record I reported it, and this is why:

Once someone else pointed out what it looked like, I had a look at it and yes, to me it looked like a horse with a huge back injury, that is all I could make it look like. I'm sorry if that makes me jaded to violence or some sort of sick pervert, but *shrugs shoulders* it was one of those mind trick things that just sticks.

So

What to do, well yes I could of asked the OP, but then she is either going to say it is something innocent, in which case all is well, or it is an injured horse, in which case what do I do then?

I preferred just to ask a mod to look into it, because they, not me have the power to request changes, or make changes.

Having recently been stung, once again by an internet troll, I am currently suspicious of everything, picture me much like a chubby Arab, walking down a forest track in the semi dark, shying at monsters that they know are hiding in behind every bush. All I need is reassurance that things are OK

Hey Mods, I am sorry if I was disrespectful anywhere here. Didn't mean to be.

And Golden Horse, it is okay that you reported it. But if you had asked first, I would have kindly explained what happened and shown you a bigger picture so you know nothing's wrong :)

Also, I wasn't trying to find who reported it, I just wanted people to know that it wasn't what I guess some people thought it looked like. I'm sorry it looked that way

I never saw (or didn't notice) the old avatar but those pictures of your horses as coats racks made me laugh!

Holy catfish...calm down.

It was an innocent photo that a couple of people misinterpreted....that's all. There was no intent to "horrify" anyone. She addressed the concern and changed the avatar. That should end the story.

The new avatar is very pretty, though. :)
I saw the avatar, in the small version, and I saw a horse with a terrible injury. I went and looked up her profile and she had a horse that bled out and sadly passed, I am sorry for that OP. So I assumed it was this horse, as I thought I was seeing something terrible.

You weren't disrespectful, I think it was all just a misunderstanding. I reported you too, and am now seeing the bigger pics, so it's all good.

To others, who suggested they should have contacted you, if someone is odd enough to post a pic of what you think might be a dead horse, would you talk to them, or let the mods do their job? I for one, have no interest in talking to a sicko.

However I am glad this wasn't the case in this situation.

In the end there was no harm done to anyone, so being negative will not do anyone any good.
And Saranda wasn't using any superiority, what she says is actually true. If you look at PETA, they are always doing their best to help animals, and I do support their efforts. But at the same time there is the odd time where they go a bit over the top, because they are looking for animals to help and consequently always thinking in a negative manner. Maybe that's not a good example to use, but I hope you see what I'm saying and will understand :)
You should probably learn all the facts before supporting PETA at all.

Do you want some statistics on their euthanasia rate? "According to the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS), of the 1,110 cats brought to PETA’s Norfolk shelter in 2012, 94 percent were euthanized. Of the 733 dogs brought to the shelter, 82 percent were euthanized. In total, 1,675 animals were euthanized at the shelter in 2012—approximately 89 percent"

Rest of the article.

They don't do it because that many animals given to them are sick or injured. They do it because they believe dogs and cats are slaves to humanity (literally, this is what they believe) and would be better off dead than enslaved (adopted) to a new human. So they euthanize a massive number of very adoptable animals.

PETA's goal is complete animal liberation. Even if the entire human race becomes vegetarian or vegan, they still won't allow horses for riding, sheep for wool, goats for milk, etc. even if no animals are slaughtered or treated inhumanely ever.

So yea, a little off topic, but it needed to be put out there.

I did not notice the picture so I cannot comment on it.
However, I have PMed several members to explain myself and to understand their post. It has always worked out and most I have had issues with are now friends.
My interactions with other members are my responsibility .
If I thought the picture showed a horse with a serious injury I would have contacted a MOD. Its their job to police this forum not mine. They are trained to handle this not I, so IMO no one should be surprised that MODs were contacted.
Nokota what type of material was that sweat shirt made of that made the horses back itch that bad? LOL Shalom

What I meant by suppoerting them is because all I've seen in their posts so far are how animals in circuses, test labs, and certain auctions are treated. So I support them for getting the word out by stuff like that. I don't actually send them money or anything like that though. Sorry for the misunderstanding
