My daughter and Left Eye

My daughter Ami just had to euthanize Left Eye, her very special barrel horse a few minutes ago. She called me from Nevada, Left Eye had somehow cut her front foot so bad that the digital artery was severed and the bone was exposed. The vet came out and said there was nothing to do but be humane and euthanize her. Left Eye was a mare that was attacked by dogs a year ago. Ami had her healed up and ready to start barrel racing again this summer.
I am sick that I was not able to be there for her, she was alone with my two grandchildren. The elderly vet came out and helped ease Left Eye into her final sleep, she was bleeding out and was so weak.
Say a prayer for Ami, my grandkids and Left Eye tonight

So sad. It's odd how our horses can take all sorts of abuse, yet a simply cut can take them away from us. Hugs to your daughter.

Oh gosh, what a heartbreaking time for you and your daughter.

We had to euthanize our palomino, named Prince, 2 years ago.....i KNOW how difficult it is.

Hugs to all of you

I am so terribly sorry to hear about Left Eye. I remember all that time that you spent helping to get her better from the dog attack. I am so sorry. Please give my condolences to Ami.
