My horse was sick for the longest time and a few days ago she was given the ok to be turned out again with the other horses. I rode her for the first time in a month and a half today. I was worried about pushing her to hard and to fats so we walked for the longest time and went over some poles. Then we did some trotting with a couple brakes. I was holding her back a little bit. The canter was crazy though. She's always loved cantering and went fast even before she got sick. But this time she practically galloped and was trying to buck but I was able to keep her head up. I got one canter at a reasonable speed about half way around the ring before calling it quits. She did spook once but that was because the other person in the arena lost control of her insane horse (while she was on the ground) and he came galloping straight at us. But I managed to stay on for once. She's been turned out overnight so hopefully she'll be a little calmer tomorrow. But all in all it wasn't so bad. At least I'm still alive, lol.
